Eleanor Harris, Chief Executive
Eleanor Harris is Chief Executive, a director and shareholder of British Airways i360. Eleanor is Managing Director of I-Xperience, a visitor attraction consulting firm. Eleanor’s career in tourism has spanned more than 20 years. She was commercial director of the London Eye 2000-6 and previously was a manager in marketing and operations at British Airways plc. Eleanor is a member of the Brighton and Hove Economic Partnership.
David Marks MBE FRSA RIBA, Chairman
David chairs the British Airways i360 board and is a shareholder. David is joint Managing Director of Marks Barfield Architects with his wife Julia Barfield. David and Julia founded the London Eye company in 1994, secured the planning consent, partners, funding and remained directors and shareholders until 2006. David chaired the Waterloo Project Board 2002-2007, a £19 million regeneration programme that helped transform SE1.
Julia Barfield MBE FRSA RIBA, Director
Julia is a director and shareholder of British Airways i360, joint Managing Director of Marks Barfield Architects and was a director of the London Eye Company 1994 to 2006. Julia is currently on the national RIBA Awards Panel; was an Awards assessor for the Civic Trust; on the Design Review Panel for CABE; a member of Guy’s & St Thomas’s Members Council; and is a governor at Godolphin & Latymer School and on the LLDC Quality Panel
Dr John Roberts, FREng FICE FIStructE, Director
John is British Airways i360’s Chief Engineer and a director and shareholder. John is Executive Director of Operations at Jacobs UK and a visiting Professor at the University of Manchester. John was President of the Institution of Structural Engineers 1999-2000 and awarded the Gold Medal 2005. John is a leading structural engineer with expertise in passenger-carrying rides; he was the London Eye’s principal engineer.
Dick Russell, Director
Dick is British Airways i360’s legal adviser and a director and shareholder. Dick advised Marks Barfield and the London Eye Company throughout the negotiations for the creation and financing of the London Eye, and has performed a similar role in relation to British Airways i360 since its inception. Dick was for over thirty years a corporate finance partner at City solicitors Titmuss, Sainer & Webb, ultimately departmental head and Managing Partner.
We are a small office team of around 20 members of staff who are overseeing the operations staff and running the business. The office is filled with highly talented and passionate people who are proud to be part of Britain’s newest landmark.
Our marketing activity is led by Sean Watkins from Hove who has more than 20 years marketing experience mainly agency-side, working for major brands such as Virgin Trains, McVities and 3. The rest of the marketing team include Anna Prior, also from Hove, who was one of the first members of the team and now manages our international and travel trade marketing and Emily Bamber, a former freelance journalist who is now our PR and Communications manager.
Our sales activity is led by Danni Eddleston, born and bred in Brighton, with over 15 years experience in tourism including roles at our national tourist board, VisitBritain, in school tour operating and promoting London sightseeing. Sophie Shepherd from Fiveways is our Sales Manager and comes with extensive event experience from The Grand Hotel Brighton and the Conference People. The sales & events team is completed by Charlotte Carter (formerly Lingfield Park), Maisie Phillips (Awesome Events) and Liz Johnston (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Our operations manager, Courtney Lawrence-Hedges joins us from Bocketts Farm Park and has learnt her excellent customer service and management skills from years working at a well known visitor attraction. She is joined by our facilities and maintenance manager, Alex Butterworth, who has trained as an electrician before managing buildings for companies such as Virgin Active and the NHS. Our procurement manager is Eva Holt who manages all the products in our retail store.

Kevin Meredith, Official Photographer
Kevin Meredith (a.k.a. Lomokev) is one of the i360’s official photographers, responsible for capturing the project in pictures. Brighton-based, Kevin has been doing all our time lapse photography and likes to take aerial shots of the site from a crane cage! He is also known to photograph from the water as a member of the Brighton Swimming Club.
Gary Eastwood, Official Photographer
Gary Eastwood is one of the i360’s official photographers, making weekly visits to the site to capture the build and personalities involved. Sussex-based, Gary was awarded the title of UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 for his stunning shots of Hove beach. Gary describes his style as ‘architectural landscape photography’.
