POSTPONED: This event will now take place on Sunday 23rd February.
Due to the weather warnings in place concerning Storm Ciara and Denis, the South Downs National Park Authority are unable to host their Stargazing event on the seafront piazza. In order to give the best experience possible, we have taken the decision to postpone our Stargazing Pod Flight.
Did you know that the South Downs National Park is one of only 14 International Dark Sky Reserves in the world, offering the best chances to enjoy constellations, planets and distant galaxies?
To celebrate this amazing designation the South Downs National Park hold an annual Dark Skies Festival in February each year and we are excited to announce that BAi360 has been included in this year’s line-up.
So, if you love gazing at the stars or want to know more about the moon, then join us on Sunday 23rd February to look up from the sparkling lights of Brighton to the star-studded skies overhead. We will be turning off the lights for an exclusive and extended 45-minute stargazing pod flight as part of this year’s Festival.
As you glide to 450ft, Dan Oakley – the Dark Skies Officer for the South Downs National Park Authority – will talk about the stars and why they are important for us all to protect. After a brief history of what an International Dark Sky Reserve is, Dan will take you on a journey and explain why there is no-other view on Earth that is as important as that under a dark sky. While on board there will be an opportunity to explore the views from the BA i360 pod through telescopes.
Resident Members* can save 50% off tickets for our Dark Skies event through their portal.
Annual Pass holders can save 50% off tickets for our Dark Skies event via walk-up or by calling 01273 448368.
