As part of the regeneration of the seafront and the area surrounding the i360, the Council has been working hard to create retail space beneath the old arches around the West Pier – now the i360 site.
On July 29 2014, a series of fantastic shops, studios, and galleries opened their doors to the public and now one year on, they are firmly established as Brighton’s Creative Quarter .
All of them are innovative, independent businesses that really capture the spirit of Brighton, and their presence will no doubt help to turn this long-neglected area into the creative quarter we know it can be.
So without further ado, we’re proud to introduce…
The Lollipop Shoppe
Gifts and Interiors
Marco runs the show, ably assisted by Marika. The Lollipoppe Shoppe is an Aladdin’s cave of contemporary gifts and home interiors:
Prints, frames and books
Photographer Finn Hopson is displaying and selling prints from his exquisite collection. He also runs exhibitions to showcase other photographers – most recently Brighton legend Roger Bamber. His website has some fantastic shots of Brighton and the South Downs:
Banana Louis Hair Studio

Sea views, sunshine, the sound of the waves…can you imagine a better place to have your hair cut? Leave your ‘do to Lisa and relax with Brighton’s most iconic view.

Bailey Alexander Gallery
Art and Jewellery
The combined works of a silversmith and a painter. Visit their arches gallery to purchase handmade crafts direct from the producer – what could be more Brighton? And if you feel like unleashing your inner artist, the pair run regular workshops for creatives of every level.
Gifts and homewares
What better place to shop for presents than in this lovely boutique by the sea? We defy you not to love their creative solution to keeping the kids entertained while the parents shop… although it looks as if the adults love it just as much!
Gifts and homewares
A lifestyle boutique offering beautiful things for you and your home. The beautifully smelling shop offers an eclectic mix of fashion, gifts and home accessories
We’re also delighted to see a few familiar faces from West Pier market:
Knitting and crochet specialist
Master of wool, Magi Altwegg, will be bringing her comprehensive selection of knitting, crochet and ladies clothing to a gorgeous new home. Be sure to pop in and enquire about her how-to courses.
The Hat Hut
While you’re at it, don’t miss the chance to say hello to Dorian and Dinah at The Hat Hut. The seafront regulars will be selling hats, bags and all manner of other goodies.
