Jeremy BurbidgeI grew up in… Midhurst

Now I live in…Worthing

When I was a child I wanted to be… I always wanted to be an engineer & had a fascination with all types of engines and machines.

My first job was…trainee electrician, which stood me in good stead for lots of things – not least of which is knowing how it feels to be the new trainee!

My career was most influenced by… I have always been driven, but I think my overwhelming incentive has always been not to accept the status quo.

The best piece of advice I was given was… step away, look at the big picture & approach with fresh eyes.

The worst piece of advice I was given was…the M25 will be fine at this time of day.

When I need inspiration I… have to step away; generally a good ride on a motorbike or a game of squash help to give my mind the chance to reboot.

The biggest turning point in my career was… the realisation that nothing was impossible!

I love what I do because… I believe in our product, and we are constantly striving for the greenest solutions possible. I also have the pleasure of working with a fantastic team.

Not many people realise that… all the bus tickets for the UK are made in Hove.

Our customers love us because…  of our personalised customer service and ability to adapt to each customers specific needs.

I love Brighton & Hove because… it is such a vibrant and unique city. Not many places are blessed with the business infrastructure, hotels & restaurants and tourist attractions such as British Airways i360.

My top tip for people visiting Brighton & Hove is… take time to enjoy the wonderful venues and facilities we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.

My favourite place in Sussex is… oh how to choose! Brighton & Hove seafront is fabulous for a quiet stroll or a great night out with family or friends. I also spend time in the South Downs; my daughter finds great delight in pointing out British Airways i360 from Wolstonbury Hill.

My claim to fame is… I had the privilege of meeting and talking to Andy Green and Richard Noble before they broke the land speed record.

This time next year… we will be embracing new ventures that are currently well on their way to fruition. It’s all very exciting!  I look forward to talking to you about them soon.
