What a success the Young Artists Competition was – we gave you the task of creating masterpieces inspired by Brighton beach, whether they be paintings drawings or sculptures. We received nearly 100 entries, all of an exceptionally high standard, and we could not believe the outstanding talent shown by the young people of Sussex.
There were four age group categories (0-4, 5-7, 8-12 and 13-16 years old) – however with the high number of entries we received, it was decided to expand the 8-12 category, giving us two people for each 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. We also added in two additional categories: the ‘Special Mention’ award and the ‘Best Sculpture’ award.
We’d like to thank our wonderful judges who, faced with such a high standards of creativity, had a very tough job indeed!
