2015 News
It has been an epic year for British Airways i360. Can you believe that last Christmas we were deep in the ground, hand-excavating live electricity cables and planning our big break into the Victorian sewer running under our site? This year we are 162m into the sky and building the futuristic glass pod that will offer incredible views over the city, coast and the South Downs.
With the pod floor sectors (a sector is a pie-shaped part of a circle) now installed on the chassis at the base of the tower, we have reached a really exciting part of the build: installing the 24 delicate superstructure sectors that give the pod its recognisable form.
As one of this country’s most iconic and respected travel brands, this deal offers great benefits to not only British Airways i360 in Brighton, but also the region.
Patrick Turner-Lee shared a striking oil painting of the Brighton i360 on Twitter recently. We wanted to know more and he kindly agreed to talk to us about his art and the fascinating journey he has taken to becoming an artist.
