This week’s BA i360 Home School Challenge:

Create and Design a leaflet or information poster to advertise your very own Tourist Attraction

If you’re reading this, we just want to say a massive congratulations on surviving your first full week educating and entertaining the kids at home in amongst this chaotic time!

As promised, we want to help you through this period by sharing educational challenges and competitions for the kids to do at home. This fun curriculum based activity is suitable for both KS1 and KS2 and is great way to let their vivid imaginations run wild.

Have your children ever dreamed of creating their own theme park? A park dedicated to dinosaurs? Or perhaps their very own viewing tower that takes its visitors all the way up to outer space? This week’s BA i360 home school challenge is to create a leaflet or poster for their very own tourist attraction!

First things first, we’ll outline the purpose of a leaflet or poster for a tourist attraction and then give you tips on what information is best to include before tasking you with making one yourself!

Purpose of a leaflet or poster:

Persuade the reader to do something. For tourist attractions, it’s how we provide information to someone who may or may not have heard of us before and entice them to visit us.

Before designing, it is important to think about:

What is your attraction?

What is the name of your attraction?

What would your logo look like?

How would you describe your attraction?

Who is your attraction aimed at?

What is your USP (unique selling point)? This means what is special about your attraction and tells people why they should come and visit?

How much does it cost to visit?

Where is your attraction located?

How can people contact you?

Now it’s your turn to create your own leaflet or poster describing your dream tourist attraction.

Competition Time:

We can’t wait to see your creations. Send in your designs to us on our social channels for the chance to win a family pod flight when we re-open.

To enter simply take pictures of your leaflets and explain what your idea for a tourist attraction is, then share it with us by tagging us @BA_i360 on Instagram and Twitter or @BritishAirwaysi360, if you’re entering on Facebook. Competition closes Sunday 12th April.
